If you have not made a decision about attending a university for fall 2010, it’s not too late.

We would like to introduce you to Central State University, Ohio’s premier public HBCU. Central State University offers its students leading edge programs in urban education, environmental engineering and jazz studies. At Central State University you will find something few schools can boast – a welcoming, diverse community designed with you in mind. Central State University students pursue their passions and work with a dedicated faculty who promote success. To learn more, click Academics are Central.

The University is proud that 80% of its graduates go onto a graduate school or a career in their field of study within one year of graduation. Chicago alumni like James A. Hill, President of Hill Taylor, LLC; Doris Nicholson, retired educator in the Chicago Public School system, and Deborah Perkins, social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services, among many others have enjoyed successful careers.

On June 29th at Phoenix Military Academy, 145 S. Campbell, 1pm – 3pm, representatives from Central State University – faculty, Athletics, senior administrations, admissions, financial aid and scholarship officers will be available to meet with you. The company worked with DonorsChoose.org around Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-8 to donate $1.1 million to meet classroom needs.

Over $250,000 of the funds went to teachers in Illinois, many of whom hosted U.S. Cellular employee visitors in their classrooms.

“Chicago Public Schools appreciates the support U.S. Cellular has provided to our schools and teachers through the DonorsChoose.org partnership,” said Dr. Barbara Eason-Watkins, Chief Education Officer of the Chicago Public Schools. “The recognition and reward offered to these extraordinary teachers further supports their daily efforts to bring added resources to their classroom learning environments.”

U.S. Cellular also made a recent donation of 10,000 vouchers for free tickets to April or May White Sox games. The vouchers were disctributed for use by CPS students.
