Regional Gifted Center Wishlist

CPS’s Regional Gifted Centers (K-8) provide accelerated learning opportunities for children identified as gifted. Located across the city, they focus on utilizing critical thinking, problem solving, and logical reasoning. They also support gifted students strong interest in making a better world. Private support has been valuable in providing unique, appealing, and stimulating activities for students in the nine Centers.

The CPS budget funds compensation for 27,000 teachers, 600 principals and the support staff of 19,000. Each school’s budget also funds textbooks, library books and materials, food, building maintenance and security. In addition, all schools have modest allocations for technology and library books, although not at an optimal level.
